Legendary mountain peaks

HOLIDAY WITH A VIEW OF THE DOLOMITES

Where else can you go on holiday in the middle of a UNESCO monument? In our Dolomites accommodation, the pale mountains, which have been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2009, surround you from all sides and even peek through your window. You can marvel at them from up close or conquer them on a sporting adventure. Our hotel in the Dolomites is the ideal place to reconnect with nature and with yourself, to calm down and live the moment to the fullest.

ACTIVITIES AND IMPRESSIONS

The rustling of the leaves and the buzzing of the bees, the scent of flowers and tree resin, the gentle mountain breeze on your skin, the invigorating taste of fresh spring water and the snacks you brought with you and, of course, the view that always accompanies you: the Dolomites are an experience for all the senses, no matter what time of year you visit. In winter, the rugged peaks are covered in snow and offer the best conditions for skiing, hiking, tobogganing and many other activities. In summer, when the alpine pastures are in full bloom, hikers and bikers swarm out to seek out the most beautiful secret spots. A stop at a traditional mountain inn is a must and gives you the strength you need for the return journey to our hotel in Val Badia.

THE ENROSADIRA

During your holiday in the Dolomites, don't miss the alpenglow, which the Ladin people call Enrosadira ("to turn pink"). When the weather is fine in the evening, the whitish rocks of the Dolomites glow in beautiful shades of red, pink and orange shortly after sunset. What causes this phenomenon? When the sun is low in the sky, the blue wavelengths of the sunlight are dispersed in other directions as it enters the atmosphere. The remaining light appears reddish in colour. Before this was known, however, the local population came up with exciting legends and tales to explain the phenomenon. The legend of the dwarf king Laurin, for example, tells that his enchanted rose garden is only allowed to bloom at dusk, causing the red colour.
